I have a new Lenovo L480. My trackpad and touchpad were fine and after an update, which I could not identify from where it was, windows Update or Lenovo vantage for the ELAN driver. I am using Windows 10 Education build 1803. I have tried different methods, unnistalling, installing the one from the website (L480 page), or even installing one from another lenovo laptop which was a newer driver. I really do not know what to do, I have also cheked in the Bios and the Trackpad and touchpad is activated. What should I do?
Thanks in advance

Well we have the same issue, after running ELAN Firmware Update through Lenvo System Update.
The Firmware Updates did sucsessfully finished, but after then no funktion on TrackPad or TrackPoint.
It's OS independent....
on Monday i need to open a support ticket.

I have also send my laptop to the university. They think that is a hardware issue and they send it to Lenovo. I told them that i think is from the software. Anyway I hope the guys from lenovo can fix it somehow. I could not find a solution by myself.

Yes - same here. I purchased two separate L480 machines (both running Windows 10 Home edition)
The trackpad was working fine on both of them when I first launched them. I did all relevant Windows updates - no issues.
I then ran Lenovo Vantage and checked for updates and was instructed to update the BIOS
It was the BIOS update that caused the trackpad to stop working

found the solution: Downgrade the BIOS to Version 1.26.
after that TrackPad and Backlit works again.
but first check the BIOS Option "SecureBoot RollBack Prevention" found unter
uEFI BIOS Update Setting at the uEFI Setup, you need to disable it.

Hi,we already reproduced this failure in engineering lab, it's caused by incorrect viarable in v1.26 BIOS， as updated from v1.26 to v1.28, there would be conflicting and system would got problem.
we are working on new-fix bios force update by TVSU。
before that, can you roll-back to v1.26 BIOS temporarily?
you can find v1.26 BIOS here
this problem happen only when machine built with v1.26 BIOS and then update to v1.28.
no problem if update BIOS from version before v1.26 to v1.28; or update BIOS from version before v1.26 to v1.26 then v1.28

Thanks for the answer but that seems not to be working for my case.
I rolled back like you suggested but it is still not working. i also confirmd in bios that it has the right version now 1.26 but as mentioned it is not working i thought i might need to update the firmware of the the touchpad. As i treid that i got the same error as before "Failed to enter transperent mode" any sugesstions?
