I have a problem with my SL500. After upgrading to Win7 the lenovo care button isn't illuminated anymore. Nevertheless the button is working. When pressing the button the ThinkVantage Toolbox is being started.
I already tried to install the WinXP driver but it also doesn't work.
Has anybody an idea what to do to get the button illuminated again?

I have the exact same problem. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on my SL500 notebook, and the Lenovo care button does not illuminate any more (it did previously under XP), but when I press the Lenovo care button, I can access the toolbox as expected.
I'm fairly certain I have installed every driver needed as well.
Maybe someone who purchased an SL500 with Windows 7 pre-installedfrom Lenovo can tell us if their button illuminates?

I have exactly the same situation; my SL500 with XP Pro had the blue illuminated care button which is no longer illuminated since the upgrade to Win 7 Pro.
I suspect the new toolbox software has not had this functionality added but I would like to see it working again!

The solution that worked for me was that I installed "Lenovo Productivity Center". Link below:
Tell me if it works well for you too.
