Max hard disk size in a R51 (type 2888)

2008-09-02, 19:05 PM

Is there a hard disk size limit on my Thinkpad R51, type 2888?

What type of hard disk is accepted, S-ATA?

Thanks!

Or maybe the right type would be ATA?

The largest ATA 2.5" hard disk I find is the Western Digital Scorpio 250GB 5400RPM IDE ATA/100 2,5", will it fit?

Welcome to the forum!

The correct drive type is PATA aka IDE or ATA-6. SATA will not work in your machine.

And yes, WD 250GB will fit just fine.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

George
