Mobile intel express 4 series the lenovo sl410 dedicated graphic memory allocation please help!!!

Basically I am trying to increase my graphic memory from 128 mb to 384 mb I think i read smewhere that this was the maxium value?

Whenever I start up the intel graphics and media control pannel it says the dedicated memory is 128 and shared video memory is around 1.7gb. I have 8 gigs of ram and I feel its being kind of wasted and whenever I run games the shared ram is not used at all, and it never goes above 128 mb. Does anyone know a way to increase the dedicated memory? I have searched countless sites for anwsers but I have found nothing.

And also why is there a graphic driver for ATI on the sl410 series?  does it not run on the intel express 4 chipset?I have not been able to use that driver.

And if you suggest checking bios I already did and there is no option to change video memory

dedicated ram is the vram that is affixed with your graphics card, you can't increase it.

What is the model number of your machine? xxxx-xxx?

Some SL410's had an ATI graphics chipset.

Are you running XP or Windows 7?

Windows 7's DirectX will dynamically allocate system RAM to the graphics chipset (assuming the driver supports it). Vista and earlier won't.

[ Edited ]

I am running windows 7, when i update driver there are some options like VGA driver/ intel express4 chipset and another one called intel express 45 gm chipset with WDDM(i dont know what this is) but Ive installed the windows intel express 45 chipset and it usually crashes games at times so I reverted back to intel express 4 chipset and still my graphics ram never goes above 128mb all that allocated memory is there for show

Also I have uninstalled the driver but heres the wierd part when I clicked check hidden devices there was a VGA controller(i found this out by uninstalling this device) What is that used for? I have disabled it and it doesnt affect performance or anything but when I uninstall it, it promts to reinstall as a VGA controller.

You'll want the Intel Graphics driver for that. Check on the Intel site for the latest ones. Chipset drivers install chipset drivers.
