R40 Wireless but no wired ethernet.

I'm stumped. My R40 Thinkpad wireless works fine but my wired controller in back keeps saying "network cable unplugged."

All drivers re-installed, no yellow marks in device manager, TCP set to "obtain automatically," no viruses or spyware detected.

Tried two cables, same result. Tried installing from Intel and Lenovo drivers, no luck.

What did I miss?

Thanks.

Re: R40 Wireless but no wired ethernet.

Welcome to the forum, dongsams!

Does your BIOS page show a MAC address or it says "Non Applicable" ?

Good luck and let us know.

Cheers,

George

Re: R40 Wireless but no wired ethernet.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, BIOS shows Mac address as does my PC Doctor scan.

All windows updates installed.

I notice sometimes the ethernet port greens will flash but not stay on.

Tried with wireless off but no luck.

TY
