R40 wireless doesn't work

After reinstalling Windows XP and reinstalling drivers for my model, I am unable to use wireless.  I've tried all listed wireless drivers on the lenovo site for the R40 with no success.  When I follow Lenovo Troubleshooting wireless networking issues - Thinkpad I get stuck immediately.  Right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager produces no result.  Under Network Adapters, I do not see the card listed and I see no reference to wireless.  As mentioned above, I've tried all of the drivers listed on their site.

1) Is it possible that they no longer have a supported driver for this model?

2)  How do I solve this problem?

Any help in solving this will be greatly appreciated.

MY MODEL IS 2897-93u

wireless support in the original IBM configuration is:  Intel 802.11b wireless(MCPI) .  When I go to the drivers site, there is no driver which is listed which is exactly the same.

Re: R40 wireless doesn't work

I just tried something else and got it to work.  I don't know how to close this item out as resolved but it is resolved.
