R50 Laptop / Windows XP will not locate wireless adapter

2009-07-05, 18:16 PM

My son received a new (refurbished) R50 1830 BU3 as a gift exactly one week ago.  During the week, he was playing with it and downloaded a virus.  I did a system restore back to the day received, but the wireless adapter quit connecting to the internet.  Figuring the virus had affected the wireless, I formatted and reloaded XP from a disk I had.  Now, XP will not find the internal wireless adapter at all.  I've performed a BIOS update and downloaded the driver program from Lenovo.  Still, seems my main problem is XPs inability to locate the adapter, period.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!
