R52 Processor upgrade

Ok so I know I can upgrade my processor in my R52 1847 but what processors will work I have a few laying arround and my top processor that will fit is a Celeron D 2.8GHz. While I have others that are just 1.8GHz to 2GHz. I just want to know if I can put the Celeron D in there and it still work will I have to do something like change a jumper like I have had to do on Desktops or is it fine Just setting it in there?

Current Specs:

P M 740(1.7GHz)

2GB RAM

40GB 4200rpm HDD

64MB ATI Radeon X300

WinXP Pro Corp. SP3

Maximum would be Pentium M 780.

If the processor fits, it doesn't mean that it will work. The chipset determines what will work and what won't.
