I have a ThinkPad R60 9461DXG which I bought two and a half years ago (warranty has elapsed). My operating system is Windows XP.
My laptop starts overheating (Everest shows a cpu temperature of more than 90°C.) and than it crashes. Most of the times I get a bluescreen with the following message:
*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted ***
Some months ago this started to happen when I was playing Age of Empires II (which is an old game and should not cause any trouble) for about 40 minutes. I had played this game before on the same laptop without problems. Now it happens after about 20 minutes of playing and it also happend while transferring data (6 GB fotos) to an external hard disk.
I already ran Memtest86 and it passed fine.
My cooling fan is not broken.
I blew the dust of the heatsink.
Would be great if someone could help me!
Thanks for your time!
