R61 not starting after replacing fan

i replaced fan after getting fan error message, now system will not start, power light and fan come up for several seconds then turns off, and nothing on display, there is a possibilaty that the keyboard connector might have bent one pin, the system is a 8932CTO, cannot find the correct system board for this system

Re: R61 not starting after replacing fan

Hi,

I also have an R61 (8932-CTO), and have also had to change the fan about 4 times since I bought this machine in 2009.

I have also encountered your problem on one or two occasions, and the cause was that I had inserted the keyboard plug into its socket upside down. So yes, the probable cause is your keyboard connector, either reversed or bent.
