R61E Delivery

2008-01-23, 3:39 AM
Just a quick note that the R61E CTO unit I ordered on 16JAN08 arrived yesterday, 21JAN08.

Nice piece of equipment although a bit bulky feeling and appearing after all my T series units.

I've put some comparison photos in the photo thread.
Regards,

James

Re: R61E Delivery

Just curious about the R61e...I'm getting mixed signals as to whether or not a firewire port is actually on this model.  The website says that R61e's come standard with an IEEE1394 port, but any reviews I've seen (that mention a CTO model), show no firewire port.

Is it something that's been added to newer machines (i.e. 2008 models)?

Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't really help you as I'm confused about this matter as well. According to the Lenovo R series webpage here, my R61E should have a Firewire port as standard equipment, but it doesn't.

As far as I can determine, the 1394 port is installed in select R61 and R61i machines, but you have to check each individual model to see if the port's on there or not.
