I have Thinkpad 440 and want to upgrade to ram to 16 gb(8x2). But seeing the installed ram I am unable to understand which type of ram it is DDR3 or DDR3L. After bit of googling, I came to know that installed ram is DDR3L.
I am thinking of buying Kingston DDR3L 1600MHZ ram.
Please help me in choosing the compatible ram.
Thanks in advance.

All Haswell laptops must use DDR3L.
Your posted RAM should work. The official memory description for the L440 is:
16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets

Is there any way to upgrade RAM to 32gb?
Nope... A 4th gen core i CPU will support RAM modules of maximum 8GB each, and your L440 has two RAM slots, resulting in a max RAM of 2x 8GB...
