Rescue and Recovery Backup Service has encountered a Problem needed to close

This message appears after startup. I have windows XP V 5.1 Service Pack 3

My system is Lenova R61i  Any help would be appreciated

That is usually associated with a corrupt Rescue and Recovery software, you may try to do an update by downloading the new Rescue and Recovery software from Lenovo.com support page.

Thank you for your help, but no luck. 

Removed installed version, downloaded new vewrsion and installed. Same problem.Version now is 4.21.0016.00

You may want to burn a copy of the recovery media, and use that to reformat your whole harddrive, i think you got a corrupted harddrive partition.

I never used RR and would not know where to look for the back up partition.

no luck!

removed RR from system which removed RRbackups also. Defragmented the drive. Made sure the Registry is clean.

Re-installed RR 41.21. After restart RR started backup to C:\RRbackups. It seems RR crashed at the end of the job.

Installed RRUTIL. RRUTIL could not find RRbackups on drive C:

OS = Windos XP professional SP 3.

Any help is appreciated
