Thanks to troubadix for the great work, even if you do not own a SL500!
This are the ACPI-Files for NHC (Notebook Hardware Control). And here a brief instruction how it woks:
So the biggest difficulty is to modify the LENOVO.xml file. For better understanding I posted mine:
<Model name="27469AG" location="SYSTEM" class="SL500" file="Lenovo.cs" />
My NHC Version: 2.0 Pre-Release 06
By the way: I removed the cover from the bottom of my laptop and put it on this USB-powered stand. Keeps the machine cool at 40°C - 45°C.

thanks a lot troubadix and bie !!!!
can I know what your instructions will do bie ? because you didn't tell us what they are for lol
will I be able to control the fan speed or the temperature, etc...?
thank you for the great work.

The script of troubadix controls the fan. It switches it off most of the time. Unfortunatly it is not able to reduce the rpm of the fan to lets say 400 rpm to quieten it a little bit.
It is no real solution but IMHO it is a big advance. But keep an eye on the cpu-temperature.
Hope your questions are answered.

what does this do different from the tpfancontrol program from the previous posts??
troubadix wrote in this post:
[...] the ACPI-script is doing exactly the same as the TPFC_SL: spoofing the ec register but using WMI and not a system port which seems to be often too busy.[...]

Hmmmm ... I think that now everything is clear for us ... unfortunatelly.
Thermal design of SL series that is complete tragedy.
I have SL500, T5870 (2GHz) and Nvidia 9300 on-board. I tried NHC solution, of course it works, but when I left my computer CPU went to 85C very quickly. NHC solution lacks of possibility to set temperatur levels for fan action. Please be informed.
So this is why Lenovo didn't change the fan behaviour in BIOS upgrade. It's simply not possible. There is to much heat in this notebook even if you are doing nothing or browsing the web.
I bougth my computer in shop not remotely so I can not send it back (when buying remotely I can send it back up to 10 days after delivery). I will try to change the fan in Lenovo service.
For me it looks like SL series notebook that is totally crap.
I must say I bought it because I have R series lap inmy work and this one is fantastic -quick, reliable and completely quiet.
BUT SL SERIES THAT IS QUITE OTHER STORY !!! DO NOT BUY IT !!
