The boot screen is shown on external Display

Hi guys,

Recently I've got an Thinkpad L540 and it's pretty cool.

But I got a problem that when the laptop is booting while a VGA is plugged in, the boot screen (the screen right after when the laptop turns on) will always be shown on the external Display (Projector).

I've already checked the BIOS and it is set to "Thinkpad LCD".

I don't know if it'll be fixed with an BIOS update.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Re: The boot screen is shown on external Display

Welcome to the forum!

What you're seeing is perfectly normal and the way it's always been on ThinkPads.

Don't expect a BIOS update to "fix" it.

Cheers,

George

Re: The boot screen is shown on external Display

I just got a L440.

I have it closed and docked in the docking station which has a DVI attached monitor and I do NOT see the Boot messages on the external monitor. I wish I did.

Re: The boot screen is shown on external Display

So there's no way that the boot screen will be shown on the ThinkPad LCD wile a VGA is plugged in?

Well I guess I have to live with it.

Thank you very much for the answer.

Sincerely,
