ThinkPad L420 replace DDR3 with DDR3L

2019-11-18, 16:10 PM

I have ThinkPad L420 with I7-2640m.

Laptop currently has one DDR3 4GB 1333MHz RAM module inside.

I want to replace it with two DDR3L 8GB 1333MHz modules.

Could this device has any problem of compatibility with low-voltage RAM modules???

Hi !

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums.

Kindly refer to this similar thread, it might work since OEM have tried this model to 16GB memory capacity. Two DDR3L 8GB 1333MHz modules propably fine since it will be on dual voltage.
