ThinkPad l380 not turning on (SOLVED)

Whenever I try to boot my laptop the lights on the buttons (escape, f1, f5 and caps lock) turn on like they usually do but then the lights turn off like its flickering. So I put my ear next to the laptop and it sounds like something is turning on whenever the lights turn on. But then the sound stops and it resets.

Re: ThinkPad l380 not turning on

I looked on the bottom and saw that the fan would start spinning and then stop spinning everytime the light flashed

Re: ThinkPad l380 not turning on

Hi DarkSt0rm.

Welcome to our community forums.

We'd like to know, what do you see on the screen? Are you getting a black screen? Does the fan spinning loud? Are there any changes/updates prior to this issue? Try to do a power drain by removing all connected devices (AC adapter, USB flash drive, etc.), shut it down and hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds. Turn it back on after a few minutes and observe.

Keep us posted.

Re: ThinkPad l380 not turning on

It was a blank screen and before this problem it also took a few seconds for the lenovo logo to pop up. The fan spinning sounds aren't loud as I can only hear them when my ear is right next to the laptop. I will try to do the battery drain as well

Re: ThinkPad l380 not turning on

By " it took a few seconds for the lenovo logo to pop up" I mean that the same thing I mentioned here would happen but then after a few times the light would blink, it would turn on

Re: ThinkPad l380 not turning on

It looks like(not sure) that the laptop is turning on and then turning off and then on and off etc..

I just needed to chime in: I though this was a joke, but dropping the computer from about 10 cm above on to the table solved this problem. Thanks!

And we're back...
