ThinkVantage recovery partition deleted

2008-06-05, 23:35 PM
Long story short: I went to install XP Pro on my ThinkPad (that I just got today) because Vista Basic was closing programs left and right and just overall going crazy. So now I have no recovery partition, no recovery discs, and no way of using my computer besides Linux because the COA doesn't work with the other Vista disc I have.

Is there ANY way to get the partition back?

Thanks.

You should have made the recovery set before installing XP. Call Lenovo and get some recovery discs sent out to you. Have your credit card ready.

So how much am I looking at cost-wise?

If it's some ridiculous cost I'm not going to worry about it. Just sucks that a small error like that carries such huge consequences.

I've been running Linux for a year, so I wanted to dual-boot it anyway..but if I have to run it full time that's not a big deal.

And what exactly does that get me? Discs to reinstall Vista and reformat the recovery partition?

Thanks.
