Hello Lenova Group,
I have had bought a new Lenova L420 running in 32 bit Windows Home Edition.
I can see an integrated webcamera for this.
I've looked everywhere and was only able to turn it on by downloading Skype. I don't want to use Skype. I just want to turn it on.
In other words - I need to switch on the camera without any applications(skype) ON.
Is it possible.
I have tried with the shortcuts like Fn+ESC and Fn+F6,F5 etc..
Even I have checked in start menu with the keyword "Cam, webcam, etc.."
Is there something like any hardware driver or software missing?
Get me back and I'm new to this forum too

I do not belive that there is a way to turn the camera on without any programs to assist it. If the camera is on, but there is not a program active helping it, then it would be somewhat useless. However, I believe I may have found something that should work for you. Lenovo makes a program called ThinkVantage Communications Utility. This utility will allow you to activate your integrated camera and make clips and take snapshots if you would like. When this application is running, then the camera will stay on, so it should accomplish what you are looking for.
Best of luck,
