Thinkpad L590 BIOS and Embedded Controller command line update

2020-01-29, 13:54 PM

BIOS update to version 1.15 from r0zuj09w.exe program.

Included in the r0zuj09w.exe are few files - including cmd update utility WinFlash64.exe and BIOS contents files.

WinFlash64.exe sees as BIOS file only the $0AR0Z00.FL1 - command:

WinFlash64.exe /file 0AR0Z00.FL1

but that file updates only BIOS, Embedded Controller is not updated.

The second file 0AR0Z00.FL2 is not seen as BIOS image.

Full install from r0zuj09w.exe updates both the BIOS and the Embedded controller.

I need to update the Embedded Controller from the command lina the same way that I can update BIOS - how to do it ?

You should be using winuptp64.exe for this (or "winuptp64.exe -s" if you need silent), as described in the readme.  We don't document how to use winflash64.exe directly.  why are you trying to do this?

Hello!

I would use winuptp.exe, if it would be functional with Ivanti DSM software distribution. But it isn't. So I have to use winflash.exe.

We are always getting the return code 4294967295, when running "winuptp.exe -s".

Best regards

Thanks - Winuptp64 -s -r works (I use SCCM deployment).

Thank you. But still not functional with Ivanti DSM software distribution. Still return code 4294967295. It looks like, winuptp.exe does not know the directory, where it is started. So winuptp.exe doesn't know, where to find the needed files.

That should be a simple case of setting a working directory.  Surely Ivanti can handle such simple thing, or else you can ask them how to do it.
