for the past 5 years my Thinkpad R60 has been totally reliable and I haven't had a single problem with it despite being used heavily pretty much every day.
However now I'm getting a blue screen with the following message:
"*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The System has Halted ***"
This usually happens when using firefox/word.
After searching the forums I've run memtest for a good 5-6 hours with no errors detected and I've also updated all of the drivers using "System Update" however the problem is still recurring.
Any suggestions or anything similar happen with any other lenovo laptops?
When i bought the laptop in 2006 i had an extra 512MB added, could this be part of the problem?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
