I'm going through quite a bit of trouble with the pen. My ThinkPad just came in yesterday in the mail, and after the second day of use, I realized the pen is not charging in its slot. Since unboxing, I did experiment with the pen and its settings. I noticed just now that the pen is not charging, remaining at 50%. As a student, I was looking forward to the pen, now I am super anxious if I made a bad choice purchasing this computer. What are my next steps from here, is it okay to request service?

Welcome to our forums community.
Try to remove and reseat the pen 5 or 6 times then leave the pen in for a couple of minutes to see if the pen will take a charge.
From the Windows Menu, launch the Lenovo Pen Settings App. A Battery Indicator icon is shown at the top of the Lenovo Pen Settings App if the pen is detected. When you hover your mouse on the Battery Indicator icon, it should show the battery percentage. If not
enable the Show Battery on Taskbar option by clicking the toggle switch.
If the issue is the same, run the update and install all detected updates through the Vantage app. Check if the issue is the same.

Thank you so much for the help, here's what happened:
I finished all the updates (Now says "No updates available. Your system is up to date."), and checked on the Pen app again. The battery still remains at 50% no matter long I leave it in its compartment. I reseated the pen a couple of times, and continue to do once in a while just to check. Still no hope.
What do you think my next steps are? What do you think may have caused this, is this a hardware issue?
