Unlable to log into system with supervisor/boot password contained special characters

Question

I set a supervisor/boot password in BIOS and it was accepted perfectly. When the system rebooted, I key in the same password when prompted for boot password. However, the system denied my password.

Password used: "abc123#1"

How to solve it and avoid the same thing happens again?
