WiFI no longer working

I have an L440 ThinkPad laptop and WiFi has stopped working. The on/off feature on the F8 key has no effect what so ever. When running diagnostics I was asked to use the Intel PROset Wireless Utility to turn WiFi on or off. I could find some other PROset apps - but not the Wireless Utility - so I tried re-installing it from the Intel website. After installation (which I have now tried twice) ALL PROset apps have disappeared from my computer. They're just gone - and still no WiFi.

After running the Intel Driver Update Utility it got even worse. The Wireless Virtual adapter driver stopped working and gives error code 10.

Ideas, anyone?

Re: WiFI no longer working

Could it be turned off in the BIOS?  Did it work before?  Anything changed?  Look in Device manager and see what is there under networking.

Re: WiFI no longer working

I have not checked BIOS, but everything looks normal in the Device manager.
It used to work just fine - and from one day to another it just stopped working.
