Hi Vshlkhatri! Welcome to our forums community. You can flash the BIOS to its previous version from this link: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/bgcn24ww.exe. Here is the read me file: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/bgcn24ww.txt. Before proceeding, you need to enable the BIOS backflash in the BIOS. Follow the steps here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht500222. You can refer to the photo below.

It still does not work. My battery life is also abnormally low. Estimated time is an hour and 50 minutes on 95% charge.
Should i put it back to version BGCN21WW ?

Not yet, let's try to troubleshoot the battery issue by following the steps here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht080185. Update us how it goes.

I clicked the hyperlinked text under the "battery life (capacity) decreases with age.." heading, and I went over to the drivers and software page. I used the diagnostics section and ran it for my battery but nothing came up wrong, as well as check for any driver updates. I recall updating something related to intel but it didnt change anything, and excluded the bgcn25ww bios update. I'm not really sure what to do next.
There was another post on the forum regarding battery issues with an ideapad model, and part of figuring out the problem was to run "powercfg /energy" in command prompt, so ive done that already and gotten the report. It shows something talking about "cpu utilization" being high so hopefully it helps.

The test means that something is running on the background. Try performing a clean boot. The steps can be found here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/troubleshoot/lpt000322. Observe if the issue is the same. Let us know.

The clean boot was done and the battery life was better (not like before from past usage after I bought it in September), but it would flactuate a little bit around 4 to 3 hours and deteriates from there, as the battery life reduces from a 80% something charge. It did make a difference but the laptop still feels off, warming up a little bit under idle. After turning it off, the next day it went back to the estimated 1hr battery time around 90% charge.

You can isolate the problem or identify the programs or apps that are contributing to the battery drainage by disabling one program at a time and observe if it will improve significantly. From there you'll know which program to stop from running on the background or startup.

funny story. I put it back to bios bgcn25ww since lenovo vantage kept prompting me to and everything was normal again. Another thing though, some function keys dont work. The icons dont show up when I press 'f4' to mute my mic or 'fn+q' to switch performance modes. How do i enable them?
