I am trying to install windows xp and when the setup starts i got message no hard drive found........
So i need help. What to do to solve this preobled? Anybody got the same problem? Is this because of SATA hard drive or what?

Yes, it is because of the SATA hard drive. Go into the BIOS and set the SATA to "compatibility". Then XP will see it.
Did you make your Vista restore discs before you started installing XP. You may be able to still go back and do it now.

That's because your R51 doesn't use SATA drive to begin with, but PATA/IDE. Your problem lies elsewhere, probably in a defective hard drive itself, or an improperly mounted one.
Hope this helps.
And, of course, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the responce
I'm really kinda stumped. The R51 had XP on it, but it was crashing all the time. Eventualy I got frustraited and decided to start a new and formated the hard drive. Now i get that meassage when XP is being installed. " cannot find hard drive" ( or something along those lines). I checked in the BIOS and the hard drive is displayed. I thought that SATA mode was the problem, but I guess not.
