Thanks - it's working on it.  They didn't have the 7200's in stock so she's being downgraded to a 5400 platter. :(  It says the restore is at 28% now so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

For $160 I may spring for an 460GB SSD for my T530.  I agree, battery life could be a bit better. I can stretch mine out to 4-5 hours if I turn the display brightness down most all of the way and keep the number of active windows to a minimum.

5400 vs 7200 shouldn't kill performance that badly.

I just got a 128GB SSD since it was what I could afford. it was an mSATA so i still have the 500GB drive.

I've been able to get a couple of minutes out of my Ws battery, but its been getting worse.

I really want to buy the 9 cell and 9 cell slice batteries, but they're rather pricey.

Success - thank you gentlemen!  It's slower than all get out with that 5400 in there so now that I know the backup is ok - I'm going to go get 2 SSd's - one for her - one for me. :D

She hadn't backed up since I setup the RAID system in November and did the initial full backups. (In spite of my repeated suggestions)   How much ya wanna bet that she does now? ;)
