The fonts appearance on your screen seams better than mine. What do you think? Is there something wrong with my LCD monitor?

My earlier pciture was from a 24" Dell monitor at 100% to compare the look of the font, below is a picture from my 15" P50 FHD notebook:

 I would try to disable HDR to check if that will change anything, but you might be used to a higher resolution display.

You can  run AIDA64 engineer .exe from the downoaded zip file without installing you will be able to find the maker of your panel and be able to check if any review mentions it.

Your Lenovo P50 notebook screen display is even better than mine. Shown below is the screenshot of my LCD monitor profile.

According to panellook, your panel has superior specifications

https://www.panelook.com/modelcompare.php?ids=42021,33006,19049

Maybe there is a subjective difference in appearance but it should perform better overall.

Perhaps the increased brightness highlights the weaknesses of FHD differently.

What is the refresh rate that is actually set in your Lenovo P50 B156HAN04.5 display?

Good catch,

I typically run it on 120Hz on AC and Intel Graphics Driver is allowed to reduce it to 60Hz while on battery.

BTW for your panel I could not find a review on Notebookcheck with a color calibration profile yet.

If you have a color calibrator or want to pay 5 USD to a russian dude online It could be wort trying to calibrate the output.

In my experience, the notebookcheck profiles are the best, even though they are not for your own panel,

I could never get better results using my Spyder-X and displaCal software,

I also tried the built in calibrator on the palmrest, it is not as good as my Spyder-X, much worse than notebookcheck.

I have not experienced factory calibrated panels from Lenovo so I can't comment on how well the do overall.

@freddellmeister

@gkondo

Upon looking @ www.panelook.com, I noticed that the contrast ratio of my display monitor is only 800:1 which is significantly lower than 1200:1 specified in ThinkPad P15 PSREF.

The LCD display of my ThinkPad P15 laptop does not conform to contrast ratio specification. I purchased this unit as custom-built order, with 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 500 nits display but I don't know why LENOVO provided this display part without conforming to contrast ratio specification. Low contrast ratio is the possible reason why screen texts/fonts appears blurry, ghosting, not sharp, and black color of texts is not pure.
