2012-09-22, 18:05 PM

Hello everyone,

I would like to purchase a battery bay for my W520 (4270CTO) and I have noticed that there are different battery bay models. Is it possible for you to tell me if there are any compatible battery bays for my laptop?

from what i see, the only W that supports a 3-cell bay battery is the W500.

part numbers: 57Y4536 or 0A36310. battery types 42 or 43, respectively.

similarly, those batteries are supported in the T500, but not beyond. in the T4xx series, beyond the T400 they are only listed as compatible with the T410s, T420s and T430s models.

regards.

Does anybody know if the ThinkPad Battery 43 (3 Cell - Ultrabay Battery) is compatible with my laptop?

It's been a long time since I frst asked about it,but did anyone tested any of the existing battery ultrabays on a Lenovo W520(4270CTO) to see if they are working? The reason I am bringing this up again is because I get terrible battery performance when I am running Ubuntu Linux and I wanted to increase the overall battery hours by using a battery ultrabay on my W520.

Oh I forgot to mention a couple of things.

First of all,I have flashed my laptop with a custom BIOS,which has no whitelist. So if you are thinking that the BIOS is going to reject the Ultrabay battery, then I do not think this is ever going to happen because of the inexistence of the whitelist.

Second,a quick answer will be much appreciated as I am going to travel to a foreign country in a few days and if I am going to buy one I need to do it as fast as possible.

Never mind,I asked the same question to another forum and they told me that there are no battery connectors in the Ultrabay port for the Ultrabay battery, unlike with the W500.

Thank you all for time and attention.
