Cannot create Recovery Discs

I have a new W500 with XP.  When I try to create the recovery CDs it starts the process but doesn't show me any valid drive to use for the creation.  My drive is working fine for all other uses.  I read that this can happen if the media was already created with the Windows License I have.  Anyone have any suggestions other than contacting Lenovo?

the only way to create another set of discs, is to go into rescue and recovery during startup by pressing the blue thinkvantage button, then select restore to factory default, it will reformat the hdd and reinstall everything, after which you will able to create another set of discs.
