Color calibration has a mind of its own (on battery)

2014-01-18, 18:06 PM

If the system has been on battery at any point of the session, color calibration seems to mess itself up according to what's on screen. If darker colors dominate the screen, the colors slowly (but visibly) go all weird. When there's mostly white content on screen, it returns to normal.

I've been browsing some power management settings and none of them seems to relate to this.

The system is W520 with FHD screen, Intel 8.15.10.2538 drivers, Nvidia 332.21 drivers, Windows 7.

This does not occur in Ubuntu, nor on an external monitor.

Should be this issue. Uncheck "Display Power Saving Technology".

Calibrate old school yet fail safe style.  Download and install these settings.  After months of fine tuning, this more accurate than anything else.
