Disable DVD Drive permanently?

2009-01-10, 22:31 PM

Hi,

has anyone found a way to disable the DVD drive permanently yet?

I couldn't find it in the bios and 'Safely Remove Hardware' in Vista works (led dies) but the drive is reactivated after reboot or even waking up from standby.

I bought the ultrabay slim battery mostly to avoid the constant kicks of the dvd drive (and gain a little more battery life in return).
