ECCM2SensorsData.dat needed P50 P51 error for Pantone color calibrator

2019-11-29, 5:54 AM

Had to get my MOBO replaced, followed by a re-image. Lost the following file for the pantone:

c:\ProgramData\X-Rite\ECCM-2\ECCM2SensorsData.dat

If you have a P50 or P51 with a working Pantone. Would you mind making a copy of the DAT file and sending it to me?

It would be greatly appreciated.

PS: c:\programdata might not be visible, change it in folder view or type c:\programdata >> Enter, in file explorer to search the directory.

Thank you!

Hi!
Wouldn't this file be specific to your system sensor and/or screen?

Per IBM/Lenovo, yes. It is device specific.

The truth, NO! (it has to do more with licensing...what they (x-rite and/or lenovo) is/are trying to prevent, is someone buying the palmrest with the the sensor and making it work on a machine that was not configured with it- AKA: Licensing paid - to be clear, they are not doing anything wrong by established law). Hence the reason that the x-rite application is now only downloadable with a valid serial number (preinstalled per device configuration) for P53 machines and above. Before, you would replace the sensor and install the software since the required files are not auto-generated it basically prevented you from using it.

My P50 4K (I have/had two P50's and a P53) came with the Pantone from the factory. It is still covered under Lenovo warranty (5 year onsite). I just got my P53 this week (still sealed under my desk!). I should be moved over by next week and IBM\Lenovo can figure it out, on getting my pantone working! They have about 13 months to figure it out. This all started about two years ago when my MOBO quit and the replacement was sub-par (they had me re-image the machine before they would send another motherboard - my backlight would not work on the keyboard - a replacement keyboard did nothing). To be honest, I had to swap keyboards with my other P50 to prove it wasn't the keyboard. Because they sent me another keyboard and LCD. They really DID NOT want to send me a second MB - it is the xeon, at this point -and even two years ago - I think are hard to come by. The second MB fixed the backlight issue (with the original keyboard) but before they would agree, I had to re-image the machine with the factory restore disk/usb (which I have). I did, pantone never worked again, because the file is missing. Got a second LCD last year, did nothing. Since I could not give up the machine for extended periods of time, I did not pursue it further. Now I can give up the P50 4K. If/when I get it back working, I should have the file/s and/or folder/s available for those that should need it.

Unfortunately, I will NOT be able to provide the file.

After another set of replacement parts for the P50, Lenovo was not able to resolve the issue. THEY (Lenovo) offered to replace the system with a P15/Xeon/OLED Touch.

The HMM details the steps needed to make the Pantone work (HMM pages 76-77 and 94), it seems the part/s needed (Pantone specific for the LCD) are no longer available. The replacement LCDs that I was getting are NOT compatible with the Pantone.

THANK YOU to Lenovo for the replacement. Order was placed today, no ETA for the P15...
