Freeing Memory when internal display card is disabled

2009-01-28, 14:48 PM

As the switchable Graphics is causing more problems than solving any I decided to disable the internal graphics, as I don´t really need it.

But, although disabled still the system is claiming 512MB Memory for the internal graphics leaving me with 2.5 GB of memory (4GB installed).

As I am running many memory intensive applications I would appreciate to have this memory available for Vista.

What do I need to do to free the memory?

I don't think it is like that, that you can just take the memory back.

Anyway, what helped me was to set the Pagefile min and max to the recommended size (close to 4gb). Now it shows an actuall ram size of 3gb, before it was 2,49.

hope that helps
