Going on my 3RD P72!

2019-02-26, 5:23 AM

If your someone who cannot stand backlight bleed.. The P72 May not be for you!

I'm on my 3rd P72...

First one had nonstop white noise coming out of the speakers and backlight bleed. (went with a replacement)

Second has backlight bleed at the bottom like the first.. (went with a 2nd replacement)

Just got the third and the backlight bleed is worse then the first and the second!

I am convinced that this is a design flaw. the panel gets pinched in multiple spots along the bottom of the screen.

For anyone who says they dont have backlight bleed, probably just dont care enough to see it. I would be shocked to find a p72 with zero backlight bleed along the bottom.

I'm going to stick with the 2nd p72 because its better than the 3rd one.

Not that impressed after paying what i did.

Mine has no bleed - after the support replaced the panel. The initial panel also had bleed.

My unit has the same bleed on the bottom edge than shown on the OP's photo. But the rest of the panel is rather uniform and the bottom bleed is not a huge problem for me as it is not noticeable 99% of the time (you need to be in a low lit room with a black background and looking at viewing angles below normal angle).

However you can bet this bleed is caused by the plastic frame around the screen that might be causing too much pressure on it: if you observe the panel in a situation where bleed can be easily noticed (dark room etc) and you open up or close the lid repeatedly, you can observe the bleed changing randomly position and intensity.
