'evening...

welcome to the community.

is your nVidia video driver up-to-date?

i searched on: nvlddmkm.sys and the first hit was: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/355569-33-nvlddmkm-bsod-help

it shows the solution to be installing a video driver obtained directly from nVidia's web site.

i'm not saying you should get that particular driver version, just recommending you check that you've got the latest that Lenovo offers for your machine. if you post which machine you have, i'll try to help further.

regards.

That's the driver for the nVidia graphics.  Some more info on what system you have and what OS you are running would be helpful...

If you are able to boot to Windows, run Windows Update, ThinkVantage System Update, and/or check support.lenovo.com for your system to see if there is a driver update for nVidia/Optimus.

I have w520 running windows 7 64bit.  I can only boot in safe mode with networking which makes it unable to run ThinkVantage System Update.  I will try Windows Update.  Thanks.

When I get back to my pc I'll post you a link to download the driver directly so you can get and install in safe mode.

W520 driver matrix: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT063273

NVIDIA NVS 4200M, Quadro 1000M, Quadro 2000M (Optimus) Display Driver, v8.17.12.9620

win7 32bit: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS013693

win7 64bit: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014142

if you open Device Manager and then the Properties sheet of your Display device, what version is reported on the Driver tab?

regards.
