If I turn Raid back on in BIOS will it erase Windows 10?

2019-01-21, 17:59 PM

Prior owner of my W700 turned off Raid and installed Windows 10 Pro. I would like to turn it back on and be able to use the dual hard drive setup in raid. I've heard that it would ruin my current system. Any thoughts?

The short answer is "YES". You need to backup the drives and then enable RAID in the BIOS again (0 or 1) and then restore the OS image back to the RAID array. Alternatively, you can skip the hardware RAID and use the RAID software that is in Windows 10. That way your system will not be disrupted.
