Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card of a P50?

2018-02-03, 19:19 PM

Hi guys, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P50, and I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the graphics card.  It came with an NVIDIA Quadro M2000M, but since it also has a 4K screen, it doesn't work as good as I would like.  Is is possible to replace this graphics card with a better one?  This would really help because I am a gamer.  Thanks!

No, it's not possible. P70 have MXM port, which allows replacing GPU. P50 have soldered GPU. However, there are reports, that some people were able to utilize external GPU (eGPU) using Thunderport3 port.

Please do note, that Lenovo doesn't support such configuration.
