Is your W500 noisy? and driver problem

2008-10-06, 4:28 AM

My W500 is making noise from underneath the right hand side palm rest.

and my W500 have a driver problem, which I believe it is graphic card.

I switched to XP using the rescue and recover software and the xp disc.

it happend twice now that the blue screen popped out, saying ati2dvga is wrong and something about device got stuck in infinite loop.

In CCC my graphic card shows up as HD 3650 with 512M graphic memory.

can someone help me with this driver problem?

am I still able to restore the computer to vista? and how to solve the driver problem?

Hello,

under the right palm rest, there is your hdd and in quiet rooms you may here something little.

Have you updated your XP with all updates?

I would recommend, to switch in bios to ATi and install the ATi driver once angain.

Regards

Andreas

I just set bios use pci express and discrete graphic card and disable the OS detection.

does this solve the blue screen problem?

and for my second question, can I restore my computer to vista?

Hello,

we´ll see if BOSD goes away, when bios is manually switched.

Which os was original installed on your system? And have you made recovery dvd´s from original installation?

Regards

Andreas

Hello,

BSOD=Blue screen of death, I apologize for misspelling.

if your machine came with vista installed, then you should have made recovery dvd from them.

Please call Lenovo if they are able to send you new disks.

Regards

Andreas
