Lenovo P52 EGPU crashes when initialized

2020-03-09, 8:01 AM

I have had an issue with my P52 here the last couple of months. I have used a Thunderbolt 3 EGPU case for over a year when it all of a sudden one day stopped working, I have tried several things to fix it:

* I have tried to reinstall drivers ( several tines )

* Reinstall windows ( windows 10, two times )

* Tried several cables ( 3 different, both active and inactive )

* Tried seveal GPUs ( two different )

* I even brought a new EGPU enclosure, thinking that was what was wrong, however the issue still persists

* Ran full system diagnostics to check for hardware issues

So at this point the only thing that i can see that is left is the thunderbolt controller itself. I hope that someone can help me

Hey there!

Out of curiosity: What eGPU enclosure are you currently using and how exactly do things crash? I'm using one of those Gigabyte AORUS Enclosures myself and am experiencing unexpected behaviour as well (in my case everything relating to USB on the host system stops working) on my P52.

Hi there, i use an Akitio Node Thunder 3 as my enclosuer.

The way that it crashes is that i can easily plug it in my computer and my computer finds the GPU, and installs drivers and all that.

However as soon as a screen gets connected to the GPU, windows just freezes and i have to hard shutdown the computer
