Re:Lenovo Think Pad P1 Gen2 MISSING KEYSTROKES

2020-04-07, 13:05 PM

Same issue here with P1 Gen2 missing keystrokes when system is under load. Somewhere on this forum there is another thread for P1 Gen2 missing keystrokes. Unfortunately, the search feature of this forum doesn't work, and I haven't been able to find the original thread with Google search. Does anyone have the link to the original P1 Gen2 thread about missing keystrokes? I do see an updated BIOS has released for the X1 Extreme that supposedly helps. Also, there is a new update to Intel SGX Device and Software for the P1 Gen2.

Edit: BIOS 1.30 is available for manual download (as of April 7, 2020).

Where is BIOS 1.3 available?  Have you tried it yet?

You're right that there are a number of threads about this, including one for the X1 Extreme Gen 2 that's over 70 pages long.  Perhaps a mod could merge them.   The complaints are pretty much all the same, and the general impression is that Lenovo expects to fix it with software but nothing seems to be official except silence.

I downloaded the BIOS from Lenovo's website (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en). I have installed the update. I will test over the next couple of days.

I have this problem, too. The Trackpoint also becomes very sluggish under load. I plugged in an external usb thinkpad keyboard and it works very well--even the trackpoint is much smoother.

If anyone tries the BIOS update to 1.30, please let us know if it fixes it.

I installed the latest BIOS and spent the last hour using my system, including under load. So far so good.

BIOS 1.3 is now available in the Vantage updater.  I just installed it and like others have said, it seems to have fixed the problem.

I just updated to bios 1.30 and it seems to have fixed the keyboard problem for me as well.

Are you certain the bios is 1.3? I see only 1.29 1.22.

Oh I see from the release notes that 1.3 was withdrawn. I guess I'm using the most recent BIOS.

1.29-1.22 (N2OUJ11W) 1.29 (N2OET42W) 1.22 (N2OHT35W) 01 2020/04/29

1.30 (N2OUJ10W) 1.30 (N2OET43W) 1.22 (N2OHT35W) withdrawn

1.29 (N2OUJ09W) 1.29 (N2OET42W) 1.21 (N2OHT34W) 01 2020/03/02
