Maybe thay can add an after market keyboard,

so the touch pad an accupoint is going to be in de middle of hte screen as it should!

I also hope they are going to add a realsense 3d camera so I do not have to type in my password everytime! :-)

I sure would like to see the classic 7-row ThinkPad keyboard on one of these beastly workstations. The retro "Time Machine" ThinkPad they're talking about would be a sweet pairing with the internals of these new P-series machines.

Sweet systems! I would be looking at the P70 to replace my aging W520. I use a Logitech bluetooth keyboard when the system is docked (about 90% of the time), so the offeset keyboard doesn't really bother me. The only alternative for the offset is to go back to older keyboard design and then have a separate numeric keypad to attach to the system. That would be just another item to get misplaced in my opinion. The return to ECC memory is refreshing.

In looking at the specs for the P50/70 ThinkPads I don't see any mention of a built in camera and also no indication of a HDD activity indicator.  No Camera precludes an easy way to Skype.  Hopefully those two items will show up on announcement.

Not true as far as the HDD activity indicator goes.

According to this "hands on" preview:  "In the screen bezels sits the restored HDD LED".  So Lenovo apparently listened to user complaints and brought it back.

There doesn't appear to be any mention of a built-in camera.

You are corredt about the HDD Activity indicator LED.

I, for the life of me, can't fathom why Lenovo, in their infinite wisdom would not offer a built in Camera to facilitate making Skype phone calls.  It seems to me to be false economy on Lenovo's part.  Give the customer a choice would be the best option... .win, win for everyone.

@DSperber,

by the way, you are in luck. The P70 returns to the W530 Optimus implementation, where the Displays are connected to the nVidia GPU. There will be a discrete mode again:

DISPLAY TOPOLOGY

Since Hybrid Technology has the ability to use two display adapters, some
display monitors (or displays) are assigned to specific adapter. Below
describes which display adapter controls the display connector for a certain
  display monitor.

  Thinkpad P70 (Hybrid Mode)
      Intel HD Graphics
          - (Computer's LCD)
      NVIDIA Quadro
          - Computer's HDMI connector
          - Computer's mini-DisplayPort connector
          - Computer's USB-C connector
          - Docking Station's analog VGA connector
          - Docking Station's DVI connector(s)
          - Docking Station's DisplayPort connector(s)
          - Docking Station's HDMI connector

  ThinkPad P70 (Discrete Mode)
      Intel HD Graphics
No display is connected to this display adapter.
      NVIDIA Quadro
          - (Computer's LCD)
          - Computer's HDMI connector
          - Computer's mini-DisplayPort connector
          - Computer's USB-C connector
          - Docking Station's analog VGA connector
          - Docking Station's DVI connector(s)
          - Docking Station's DisplayPort connector(s)
          - Docking Station's HDMI connector

I think the P50 will use the same implementation.

All status indicators that are coming on the P50 and P70 were confirmed. There is in fact a HDD/SSD activity status indicator.

Kind regards,

I stand corrected, There is a built in camera available for the P70 ThinkPad.  After reading both the user and maintenance manuals there is clearly a built in camera available.

Thanks Lenovo...
