NVCACHE Partition

2008-10-19, 17:28 PM

Can someone please give me a thorough explanation of what the NVCACHE disk/partition is and what the benefits are of having it.

I have a clean install of Vista Ultimate x64 running on a new 320GB WD Scorpio Black drive. I also still have my preload Vista Ultimate x86 install on the original 160GB disk that my W500 came with. The Intel Turbo memory console and drivers seem to be installed and working correctly. I realize that the NVCACHE parition has something to do with ReadyBoost but I'm not sure exactly how or where to set it up when doing a clean install from scratch.

Is the NVCACHE related to the Intel Turbo Memory or is this something completely different?

Thank you,

Forte United
