New W510 4318 very slow

2011-06-29, 0:47 AM

I bought a new W510 4318 CTO last January, but just started using it 2 days ago -  it runs sooo slow, even slower than my old computer.  I have only installed 2 programs, Adobe CS-5 and Norton.  Any ideas?

Defrag using MyDefrag (assuming you have a platter drive). Set Power Manager's advance tab's CPU performance to Adaptive on AC power.

Run Resource Monitor, go to the Overview pane, and go about your normal usage while checking there once in a few seconds to see what's under load (CPU/RAM/HDD).

Make sure you are using the 135W power adapter.
