Re: W series shipping thread

From an email I received from Lenovo:
"All or part of your order has shipped. In some instances your order may be shipped from more than one location, which will result in multiple notifications. You will only be invoiced for products that have shipped."

When you see a message like that, how long does it usually take to hit Canadian shores?

Thanks all,

J

Hi huani,

I ordered mine on 10/24 and have only received an email stating it has been shipped from China - I have no tracking number as of yet.  I can only assume that you received yours sooner a) because you are in the US (I am in Canada) and/or b) your system configuration was easier to achieve.

Here is my configuration:

  • 2.8 GHz
  • Vista Business 64
  • 15.4 WSXGA+ TFT
  • ATI V5700 512MB
  • 4GB RAM
  • 320GB 5400rpm HD
  • DVD Recordable
  • Intel WIFI Link 5300
  • Integrated WWAN upgradable
  • 9-cell Li-Ion Battery
  • 1 year depot/express warranty

Thanks,

J

huani,

Well, my credit card has been charged - I guess that's a good thing.  I presume I will be getting a tracking number soon.  Are there any Canadians who've gone through the delivery process and care to share the details of their experience?

Thanks all,

J

I ordered my W500 on 10/21/08 and received it on 11/3/08. About 13 days.  Not bad.

Hi huani,

Your experiences have been better than mine.
I ordered mine on Friday, 10/24. Printed myself the order sheet from the website, and never received an order confirmation email. Went to the order status website on 10/27 to see if it was still in the system. Everything shows up correctly, so I'm suprised to have never gotten an email. Anyway, I used the "email/print" link there to get a copy for my records (and confirm that their email isn't getting blocked somehow). I get that email immediately.
Anyway, the order shows as estimated shipping of 11/5. That seemed long to me, but I was patient.
So today's 11/5. After the prior experience, I wasn't sure whether I'd get an email saying it shipped or not, so I logged in to the order status site again. Now they've changed the estimated shipping date to 11/17. Wonderful. Will I ever get my W500? By the time Lenovo ships it, it'll be obsolete.
Any thoughts or assitance? I called the 1-866-42-THINK number, but they were closed for the night. I guess I'll try again tomorrow. Going out of town next week and I'd hoped to have it by then.

OK. Now THAT'S service. I hit post and walked away from the computer for 10 minutes. When I got back, there's a bright, shiny, new email from Lenovo saying all or part of my order had shipped. I assume it's the whole order since it was just the W500 (no dock, no case). Order status site says to check back tomorrow morning for the tracking info. I find it strange that they changed the estimated ship date to 11/17 though, and then shipped it on the original estimated ship date.
