P1 Gen 3; what are the multiple NVIDIA audio pro "device" entries?

2021-07-26, 14:17 PM

My P1 Gen 3 has Fedora 34 as OS, and I'm using KDE as my desktop environment, although I haven't uninstalled Gnome. Audio comes through the USB-C, but not through the headphones jack. In trying to diagnose the problem, I discovered that there are multiple NVIDIA "devices" shown in audio settings. They include NVIDIA Audio Pro, NVIDIA Audio Pro 7, NVIDIA Audio Pro 9, NVIDIA Audio Pro 10, and NVIDIA Audio Pro 11, along with a couple "devices" that refer to the Comet Lake chip. For each of these, there is a radio button option to enable it (I guess), as well as an option to mute it.

What are those different NVIDIA "device" entries? Can I just ignore all but the highest number, i.e., NVIDIA Audio Pro 11? What is the NVIDIA Audio Pro entry without a number?
