You mean EM7455 right? Not EM7544.

I ordered mine from Ebay - China, officially a dell part but same EM7455 card since lenovo has taken an eternity to release this part. By the time Lenovo releases it I'm sure the P51 will be out with a newer card already available..

I'll let everyone know when it comes in (likely ~2 weeks since china) if it works 100% for p50.

Regarding Ram frequency issues, that is laughable and I am 100% confident that will not cause any issues... By the same logic having 2400mhz ram in a desktop should interfere with wifi 2.4ghz, very absurd..

Thanks for taking the risk with the WWAN card. There's however also the - very likely - chance that it won't work as it is a Dell part and won't present itself with the correct USB-IDs etc. Who knows. That's what they did with the WWAN option on the T60p at least (PCI-ID)

If you are not careful with your PCB layout and think about proper routing of individual connections and ground layers your "2.4" GHz path might pick up 2.4 GHz noise, if the PCB trace is errouneously constructed to act as a 2.4 GHz microstrip antenna. People who do RF PCB layouts for a living certainly always keeps this in mind.

I'll take the risk, it's only $100 and if it doesn't work I'll just eat the return shipping cost. Been waiting several months and tired of waiting on lenovo when they're official statement is they are still working on it (5 months after releasing the laptop).

I wouldn't be frustrated about it if they didn't blacklist everything else. If they were going to take eternity to release it, they could at least un-blacklist other devices (at the very least ones that they shipped in past generations).

While I'm still very skeptical this is a real issue or concern, even if it was people could simply get slower clocked memory. I'm sure you can get ~2133mhz clocked memory with tigher CAS timings and not lose any speed, perhaps gain speed.

Just noticed that the EM7455 card is selectable as a purchase option for the P70 as is the Verizon LTE micro Sim. The ship date is 5-7 business days even when in the cart for purchase. Does this mean that the WWAN option is currently or about to be shipping (in 5 days) and when might we be able to purchase the EM7455 card from Lenovo.

Hi

It is now possible to order the Sierra EM7455 card as a spare part through IBM online store http://www.ibm.com/shop/de/parts/. The spare part can be found through the FRU p/n found in the ThinkPad parts lists. https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/p50_frubom_20151130.pdf is for the P50 model and the p/n 00JT542 costs 177 EUR excl. VAT when ordered from IBM.

I'll let everyone know if the one I ordered works - was only ~$105 from China.

I received the EM7455 some days ago and have used it daily. It works flawless!
