I also received the EM7455 from IBM parts.  Installed into a P50, Win10Pro64bit.   Windows installed drivers automatically, Everything works just fine.

Would WWAN if I just get any EM7455 and plug into the laptop?

ie. Is there a whitelisting issue? If so, anyway to circumvent it?

Alas I wanted to save and ordered a generic EM7455 for my T460. Of course it gave the 1802 error ie unauthorized hardware. Nuf said, my $100 mistake, as I am not ready to de-whitelist the BIOS with dubious tweaks.

Now I have one on order from IBM parts:

http://www-304.ibm.com/shop/americas/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/default/PromotionDisplay?storeId=260785&promoName=parts_r&catalogId=-840&langId=-1&pview=partsportal

Lenovo sales are worthless, wanted to push me a noncompatible GOBI card.

FYI here is a copy of the hardware manual, the battery disable, SIM card cover removal, and front battery disable, safe bottom cover snapoff sequence (bone tool very handy) along with antenna hookup are all here:

I also ordered a T440 regular SIM card tray to replace the OEM micro-SIM to allow me to insert the AT&T card from the Beam USB adapter.

BTW the T460 is an awesome machine with the dual batts and 15h life, I am zipping through my workday, I only charge at night.
