P50 died

2020-09-06, 11:30 AM

My P50 had been running for a number of days and when i just came back to it, it was off. Didn't remember switching it off!

Tried switching it on, few flashes of light, a puff from the fan and nothing. Changed the power cord, same. quick look on here and saw the CMOS battery comments. Pulled it to bits (out of warranty anyway!) and followed those steps.

Nada. plug the power cord in, get a few light flashes some pulses from the fan and nothing. Nothing happens after that even trying to press the power button. refit the power cord, same again, few flashes, few pulses of the fan and dead.

Anyone any thoughts? Ill try calling UK support tomorrow as this is my business laptop and everything is on it. Data is on an HDD so can get that but i have expensive software installed on the SSD.

My experience of Lenovos ............. they're **bleep**e! :(
