Re: P51 - Heavy Throttling on Battery

Temporary fix is to run Throttlestop with BD PROCHOT disabled. Other than that, we can only hope for a fix from Lenovo via BIOS-update.

My 30 day period finally ran out, so without even an acknowledgment of the issue I ended up sending it back.  If they manage to fix the issue I'll most likely buy another.

This does not fix the lack of GPU acceleration on battery. Very disappointed right now, considering returning mine as well.

Push - this issue still persists, which is annoying that I can really use the machine on battery.

do you know if P71 has the same problem, and more specifically shuts the GPU off when on battery?

Re: P51 - Heavy Throttling on Battery

An observation just now.  I was using SolidWorks 2016 just fine, the CPU then got stuck at 800 MHz.  SW froze up so I switched back to Firefox to wait it out for about 20+ minutes.  Switch back to SW and still not responding so I closed it through Task Manager and the CPU jumped back upto normal.

Anybody else having this problem willing to try this the next time the CPU gets stuck at 800 MHz to see if closing some CPU intensive programs unlocks the CPU?

Any news, or fixes for this yet?  I'm still in the market for a new machine, just want it to run properly!

I experience occasional CPU throttling that seems to be tied a program that locks the speed somehow, but I don't seem to have an issue with the Quadro GPU when on battery.
